Dudely a college student received braces as a child however after not wearing his retainer his teeth began to shift and Dudely discovered he wasn't smiling as much, a Digital Design Major he set out to straighten his own teeth in much the same way as Invisalign, and all for $60.

Clear Alligners Made  Off of 3D Printed Models

He did his research and discovered how far each tooth could move and figured out how many models he needed to print to accomplish such. His biggest reward was putting in the aliigner, which he created using something similar to a biostar, "It was very obvious which tooth [the tray] was putting pressure on," he said. "I was sort of worried about accumulated error, but that wasn't the case so that was a pretty glorious moment."

The End Of Orthodontics?

Could this be the end of Orthodontics? The simple answer no, Dudely had access to high end 3d printers and intraoral scanners as well as state of the art 3D design software something your average person is not going to have.
